Driveway & Patio Cleaning

What a Driveway Clean Involves

Over time, dirt, moss and weeds settle into the surface and the joints, and block paving starts to look dull and patchy. We pressure wash the surface to lift the grime, clear weeds and moss from the joints and treat the area to slow regrowth.

Washing block paving removes some of the jointing sand, so we brush fresh kiln-dried sand back into the joints once the surface is dry. That keeps the blocks locked together and leaves less room for weeds to take hold.

Sealing & Repairs

Sealing is optional. A sealer can help bind the joint sand and make oil and dirt easier to clean off, and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth it on your drive.

If cleaning shows up sunken areas or broken blocks, we can lift and relay them, because we install and repair driveways as well as clean them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Driveway Cleaning: Your Questions Answered

Will pressure washing damage my driveway?

Not when the pressure and angle suit the surface. Block paving and tarmac take a firm clean, while resin is washed more gently. The joint sand that washes out is replaced afterwards.

How often should a driveway be cleaned?

It depends on shade, trees and how much the drive is used. Drives under trees or in shade tend to need it more often, and regular sweeping keeps the gap between cleans longer.

Do you clean resin and tarmac as well as block paving?

Yes. The method is adjusted for each surface, and re-sanding only applies to block paving.

Is sealing necessary?

No. It can make the drive easier to keep clean and help hold the joint sand, but a well-jointed drive performs without it. We will give you a straight view on whether it is worth it for yours.

Will cleaning remove oil stains?

Cleaning lifts dirt, moss and most surface staining. Oil that has soaked deep into block paving or tarmac can fade but may not disappear completely, and we tell you honestly what to expect before we start.
