Why Block Paving Works in the Garden
Block paving gives a patio texture and pattern, and the small units follow curves and awkward shapes more easily than large slabs. Brick-weave patterns that mix two or three colours suit older houses, while larger, plain-edged blocks give a cleaner modern look.
Because it is the same material used on driveways, a block paved patio can match or link up with your drive and paths.
Our WorkAbout Us
Our Experience with Block Paving Patios
We are a family run groundworks business based in Staplehurst, and we bring over 20 years of experience to every block paving patios job across Kent, East and West Sussex and south-east London.
The same small, friendly team surveys the job, prepares the ground and finishes the surface, so you deal with the people doing the work from the first visit to the final sweep.
We have worked on behalf of Kent County Council and utility companies, our team is registered with the Street Works Qualifications Register, and we are approved under the Trading Standards Buy With Confidence scheme.

How We Lay It
The area is dug out, a membrane laid where needed and a crushed stone sub-base compacted. Blocks go onto a screeded sand bed with a slight fall away from the house, then the edges are cut and restrained with a concrete haunch and the joints filled with kiln-dried sand before a final compaction.
Individual blocks can be lifted and relaid later if you need to reach a drain or pipe, which is much harder with a mortar-bedded slab patio.
